Montreal's globetrotting MUTEK festival moves to Buenos Aires for the 2nd year. In 2006 the festival expanding on last year's one-day event with nearly a week of concerts, audiovisual performances, workshops, and panels. Situated in the Ciudad Cultural Konex, a stunning post-industrial complex in the heart of the city, the festival continues its tradition of utilizing unique spaces as a part of its efforts to reach new audiences and to move beyond received notions of electronic music's proper place. Mutek is an organisation which try to show emergents artists and experimental sounds and visuals.
The international artists confirmed to present/display his live sets are Uwe Schmidt (OF) with their project Surtek Collective, Thomas Brinkmann (DE), Cabanne (FR), Damián Schwartz (SP), Artificiel (CA), Chic Miniature (CA/AR), Lineas de Nazca (MX), Dinky (CL), Original Hamster (CL), and the visual projects garage CUBE (CH) and Clandestine (CA).
The local artists selected by the Director of MUTEK, Alain Mongeau, are Gustavo Lamas, Cristóbal Paz (Córdoba), Fantasias animadas, Franco Cinelli (Rosario), Barem, Seph, Frikstailers (Córdoba), Violett, Sr. Replicante, Boeing, Funzion (Mendoza), Danny Nijensohn, Tremor and Estupendo. The lines of vision, cured por Akira, will be in charge of kiken.corporation, Gisela Faure, i2off.org +r3nder.net, Ojo Rojo and Zleep.
